Overview
I grew up in Sligo so naturally I begin the exploration of running the wild Atlantic Way in my home county.
Base Towns
Sligo
This is the main town of the county. It is on the wild Atlantic way route. Great base for exploring the northwest.
Other Towns
Several small seaside towns along the coast are potential bases, Mullaghmore, Rosses Point, Strandhill, Easkey, and Enniscrone – any of these towns could be a base from which to explore the Sligo sections of the WildAtlantic Way.

Warrior’s Run: The best known annual run is called the Warrior’s run held annually at the seaside town of Strandhill in late August. Approximately 10 mile run up and around the iconic Queen Maeve’s on Knocknarea hill. https://warriorsrun.ie/
